In 2005 musical talent met… David Bird (aka Birdy) and Andrew Guilder (formally of Four Little Ducks) disenchanted with the current music scene decided to get together and pen some tracks together. The two instantly clicked and almost a whole album was instantly written. Andrew Guilder lead singer of the Renascent remarked, “It was great, we were coming up with material like nothing I’d ever seen! The lyrics were practically writing themselves and Birdy’s riffs were fitting the tracks perfectly”.

A few months down the line into 2006 and the band came together a bit more formally, Andrew Guilder took on the role as lead vocals, Alex Lyons acted as backing vocalist, Birdy became the bassist, and Pete Twibill lead guitar. The band came together regularly working on various pieces adding new elements to songs and creating more pieces together. The band created a very rough recording of their music at a practice session; one instant fan commented, “It’s fantastic!”

As the band got its songs together it became obvious that some elements were missing. In March 2006 Dave and Robert Gordon joined the band playing the drums and rhythm guitar respectively. Along with new material and some covers the band were set for world domination – beginning in Exminister!
